UFC 100- You book it! Empty UFC 100- You book it!

Post  Mitch Ciccarelli Sun Feb 15, 2009 8:31 pm

According to Dana White, UFC 100 will be headlined with a WW title bout between GSP and Thiago Alves!

That's an awesome main event for a huge event like this!

So what other fights would you like to see on this card?

If you were Joe Silva, how would you set this up? Remember it's UFC 100, it's a big deal. Make it realistic too, don't just put all the belts on the line because that would never happen.

Here's my card for UFC 100:

Pre-lims:

Antoni Hardonk vs. Pat Barry
Matt Riddle vs. Chris Wilson
Kurt Pellegrino vs. Clay Guida
Joe Stevenson vs. Tyson Griffin

Main Card:

Rich Franklin vs. Forrest Griffin
Randy Couture vs. Antonio Rodrigo Noguiera
Michael Bisping vs. Dan Henderson
UFC LHW Title- Rashad Evans vs. Quinton Jackson (or Machida)
UFC WW Title- GSP vs. Thiago Alves

Hey Mitch, I'm with Mike on this one. I have wanted to see Franklin vs. Griffin for awhile but in general you whole card is pretty damn good.

I agree with all of the above... Franklin vs. Griffin would be a very good match, and a very doable match at this point in time.

yeah. i guess i like it so much because it just makes sense.... like franklin vs hendo did. breaking it down i think it's overwhelmingly in favor of rich. neither guy has great chin but rich's is better imo, his stand up is definitely better, and forrest's weak takedowns wouldn't be successful.

all that being said, i just have a weird feeling it would be extremely close and epic, fight of the year material.

Oh yeah it definitely would be!

I think Franklin would probably win it as well, but I'd be rooting for Forrest!

I wish they could REALLY do something special for UFC 100 like have all the premiere fighters meet up in the UFC and battle it out with UFC's top guys, kinda when the UFC represented Chuck Liddell and Ricco Rodriguez back at PRIDE Total Elimination 2003. Bring Fedor Emelianenko over wearing the Affliction colors, have Robbie Lawler and Nick Diaz come over wearing the Strikeforce colors and sign Alistair Overeem they just all get it on with UFC's top guys now if that were possible that would be the biggest UFC show in history. If the 1% chance of that happening this would be the fight card I would hope for no particular order

Alistair Overeem vs Randy Couture
Brock Lesnar vs Fedor Emelianenko
Anderson Silva vs Vitor Belfort
Nick Diaz vs Josh Koscheck (Or If he fought at Lightweight BJ Penn)
Josh Barnett vs Cheick Kongo
Rashad Evans vs Renato Sobral
Rich Franklin (back down to 185) vs Robbie Lawler
Andrei Arlovski vs Gabriel Gonzaga

And then the other fights just be like regular UFC fights the ones I have above. I know there is no chance of that happening but you got to admit that would be the sickest card in MMA history

I don't think we'll see Nick Diaz in the octagon anytime soon, except when he's cornering his brother.

I think Franklin vs. Griffin would be a huge sale for the UFC. They are both great guys and would give us a hell of a fight. Of course I am fully behind Rich but it is a fairly even match up, as even as it goes anyway, but Griffin is more careless in my opinion. Anything can happen though.
